Our vision is to realize dis-invested neighborhoods, have greater access to physical

and mental health resources, economic advancement, education, professional and

personal development.

WHAT WE WANT TO DO

THE PROJECT OVERVIEW

Turning Red Lines Green Initiative was born out of the visions and efforts for Street

Vendor Compliance. We created a cooperative ownership, allowing greater access to

economic opportunity. Street vendors lose income approximately six months out of

the year due to inclement weather, have suffered ethnic discrimination and injustices

and have the right to earn an honest living with fair wages in safe conditions. Street

Vendors were at an increasing risk of assault and robbery in some areas and we needed

to create an alternative option that would provide our communities access to the same

customized ethnic food preparations like Elotes, Tamales, Fresh cut fruit, Raspados and

snacks; while providing the Street Vendors with an additional stream of income and

access to generational wealth.
